The person/writer that ‘has typed/is typing’ this narrative
was a self-taught and = self-coached College Track Scholarship Runner
and is communicating the conclusions drawn
from the proven/actual = results of over 12 years of competitive running.
REAL TRAINING STRATEGIES with PROVEN RESULTS
The following two facto=
rs
buttress/underscore the value/va=
lidity
of RunnerSOPS’s proven/actual training strategies:
1) very competitive times attain= ed:
a) setting school/college records in both the 1-Mile & 2-Mile
while running both even= ts back-to-back;
b) and setting the school/college record in the 3-Mile;
(a record that still st= ands today, July 2011, 42 years later)
2) by a NO TALENT Runner with average athletic abilities/speed - if even that.
Philosophy/Mentality/Outlook
It is IMPERATIVE that t= he Athlete/Runner take OWNERSHIP/RESPONSIBILITY
for the planning of the training workouts and the results/performances:
1) because a Runner that is not ‘fully involved’ in the planning
of the workouts/training needed to prepare for competition
is (I believe) NOT a fully/completely motivated competitor;
2) and because, ONLY the ‘fully involved’ Athlete/Runner
can accurately gauge/evaluate the results of the workouts/training
and m= ake the incremental changes that are needed/necessary
to ob= tain improved/maximized results= i> from each workout.
